At the end of the year, Microsoft is launching a new console with the Xbox Scorpio. But what is the company’s objective? On this question, Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra entered a recent interview. According to his statement, the relationship with the developers, who suffered under the Xbox One some what, is to be raised to a previously accustomed level.
“The team looked back at the developers and the relationship we have with them,” Ybarra said. “With the Xbox 360, we had the best platform for the developers, with the Xbox One, we lost this status over a two-year period, so we wondered how we can regain the attention of the developers.”
“We want to have the best games in our box, and there are tools, devkits, and some other things that we can use to get the developers back, and that was the top priority when we approached the product.” Microsoft would like to inspire with the Xbox Scorpio but not only the developers and ensure that the games run on their own platform best. Also, a look at the mobile market has been thrown into development.
The Xbox Scorpio was still officially unveiled, but the editors of Eurogamer now provided a lot of information about the game.
“When you think of smartphones, for example … customers buy the phones more often than we’ve ever seen,” Ybarra says. “Customers‘ expectations are now that they do not have to wait a long time for it, they are there immediately, and they expect them to use all their content across the devices.” Also the Xbox Scorpio is compatible with all Xbox One games. An identical concept follows Sony with the PS4 Pro, which is completely compatible with the PlayStation 4 games.
