Take-Two Interactive has now unveiled the latest business figures of the past year. It has also been announced that “Grand Theft Auto V” has now sold more than 80 million times.
In its most recent annual fiscal quarter and fiscal year, Take-Two, parent company behind well-known publishers such as Rockstar Games and 2K Games, announced the successes the company’s various brands were able to celebrate between 1 April 2016 and 31 March 2017 ,

According to CEO Strauss Zelnick, the action blockbuster “Grand Theft Auto V” has now reached over 80 million sales across all platforms (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC). Thus, in the last fiscal quarter, the game could settle at least another five million units.
“Grand Theft Auto V” is now ranked fourth in the top selling video games of all time. Only “Wii Sports”, “Minecraft” and “Tetris” have been even more successful. Strauss Zelnick has also revealed that 75 percent of sales are attributable to the physical versions. In addition, “Grand Theft Auto Online” was able to record a new “record year” by growing again in the fourth quarter and significantly exceeding the expectations of Take-Two. Furthermore, it was the biggest contributor to the recurring expenses of the players.
Finally, Take-Two also gave some figures to other games. According to this, the action title “Mafia III” could sell more than five million times, while “Civilization VI” was able to sell almost two million units. The entire “Civilization” series has now cracked the 40 million mark.
“NBA 2K17” is also on the way to become the most sold sports titles of all time for take-two. For now, the game has been purchased eight million times, with the players’ recurring spending up 71 per cent year on year.
