Slowly but surely Nintendo relocates the in-house resources to the switch. As the company announced, the SplatNet service of the first “Splatoon” will be discontinued by the end of next month.
For a few weeks, the colorful shooter “Splatoon 2” has been officially available for switch and swung to one of the most successful titles of the system in a very short time.
In the course of the week the news came that “Splatoon 2” could sell more than a million times in Japan alone. But how does the release or the success of the title affect the predecessor, which was released exclusively for Wii U? In this respect, Nintendo has now spoken with bad news.
As it is called by Nintendo, the responsible decided to adjust the support of the SplatNet service on Wii U. This means, in practice, that “Splatoons” players on Wii U will not receive any statistics on their use of weapons and other information of this kind as of September 30th.
The online multiplayer of “Splatoons” on Wii U itself is to be available however indefinitely time indefinitely. Nintendo has not been able to predict when the services will be deactivated.
