“Secret of Mana” is one of the most popular role-playing games of the SNES era. Accordingly, many players were excited when it was announced that this classic will get a complete remake missed. For dull mood first made the reference to a purely digital version. But something is happening on this front.
Square Enix will release a remake of “Secret of Mana” on February 15, 2018. The title was initially announced for the West only as a purely digital version. This applies to the versions for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and PC (via Steam). At least for the American market, the plans of Square Enix meanwhile go beyond that.
For the PlayStation 4, the Japanese publisher announced a physical release this week. In the US, the disk version will be launched via GameStop, and Canadian prospects will have to pay EB Games a visit. The participating distributors in Latin America have not been named yet. But one thing is certain: Pre-orderers will receive “Moogle” costumes for Randi, Primm and Popoi as well as other DLC items.
For the European market, no physical version of “Secret of Mana” has yet been announced. However, this could be the next step if there is a corresponding demand. Other games had similar scenarios: Bandai Namco released the physical version of “Gundam Versus” only through GameStop.
