The Xbox Scorpio can represent AAA games according to the Slightly Mad principle with a 4K resolution and with 60 FPS. It is still unclear, however, whether this is also true for “Project Cars 2”.
The developers of the Slightly Mad Studios are currently working on the “Project Cars 2” racing game, which will be released for the current consoles and the PC this year, based on a scalable engine that can be adapted for different platforms. This raised the question of how to support the end of the year’s appearing Xbox Scorpio.
Specifically, Andy Tudor from the Slightly Mad Studios asked if the Xbox Scorpio is capable of playing AAA games with a 4K resolution and 60 FPS. The answer sounds theoretical, but basically nothing seems to be against it. “In principle, yes, only in principle, since we do not really know until we get things going, to see what is feasible.”
The question was then asked which Framerate the developers are looking for for “Project Cars 2” on the Xbox Scorpio. “We’re researching the console, so it’s too early to provide specific responses,” says Andy Tudor. “Project Cars 2” will be available for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 at the end of 2017.
