The PSN name can not be changed so far, so you have to live permanently with the PSN ID that you chose when registering. A survey, apparently from Sony, might indicate that the company sooner or later wants to bring the opportunity to change the name in the PSN.
PlayStation players have long wanted the ability to change their PSN name. This is not possible so far, so players have to come to terms with the PSN ID they provided during registration. Last year, Shawn Layden already hinted that this situation could change. That has not happened yet.
Today, however, a message is making the round, which might suggest that Sony is thinking about integrating a changeable PSN-ID at least a little more intense. As part of an apparently official survey, the wishes of the players on this issue are questioned. In the said survey even specific details are addressed – for example, how often and at what intervals the PSN-ID should be changeable.
The survey is being launched as follows: “Hi, PlayStation has been looking for a way to implement a feature in PSN that gives users the ability to change their PSN ID.” Previously, PlayStation wanted to know if the players were even using this Feature are interested or not, “said one of the statements. However, it also states that there’s no guarantee that the PSN-ID change feature will actually become part of the PlayStation Network. “But we can assure you that your opinion on this topic will be heard.”
According to Pushquare, where the poll was first referred to, the poll not only questions whether or not the players are interested in a PSN name change. Also the further wishes are considered. For example, a way in which the PSN name can be changed several times for free – but only every six months. With the Xbox gamertag, only the first change is free.
