According to the analysts of SuperData, the Nintendo Switch sold worldwide more than 2.4 million times in the first month after the launch. Official numbers are not. Nevertheless, the company used this survey to increase the forecast for the full year.
After yesterday’s message that the Nintendo Switch sold more than 900,000 times in the USA, today a worldwide sales number followed. In contrast to the US indication, this is not an official statement of Nintendo. On the contrary, the analysts of SuperData reported with a previously unconfirmed sales figure. According to the company, the Nintendo Switch was brought 2.4 million times in the world market to the woman or the man in the first month. By comparison, since its launch in November 2012, the Wii U has sold around 14 million copies sold so far.
Nintendo has not yet reported on the worldwide sales figure of the Nintendo Switch, however, the company had the desire to sell by the end of March 2017 two million copies of the Nintendo Switch – at least to the trade. If the data from SuperData are correct, this goal would have been achieved. At the same time, the analysts saw an increase in the forecast for the full year. Instead of the initial five million Nintendo Switch, this year an estimated 7.2 million copies of the hybrid console are to be sold.
In addition, the SuperData analysts used the opportunity to call the line-up with upcoming games like “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” and “Splatoon 2” as strong. It seems that Nintendo can get up again after the failure of the Wii U.
