As Nintendo’s producer Yoshio Sakamoto confirmed on demand, he definitely has interest in another two-dimensional “Metroid” adventure. The focus, however, is on “Metroid: Samus Returns”.
After the popular series has been very quiet in the past few years, Nintendo announced two new “Metroid” adventures at this year’s E3.
On the one hand, we are dealing with “Metroid Prime 4”, which is developed exclusively for Switch with a so far not mentioned developer team. Number two is “Metroid: Samus Returns”. This is a remake of the 1991 classic “Metroid 2”.
Metroid: Yoshio Sakamoto is interested in a new 2D adventure
Yoshio Sakamoto, the responsible producer behind “Metroid: Samus Returns”, could follow the “Metroid” adventure in 2D. However, before you are concerned with possible new discs, Nintendo would like to wait until the “Metroid: Samus Returns” hit.
Sakamoto commented, “In the course of the work on Metroid: Samus Returns, the fun of 2D metroids re-packed me. If the work on the title is completed and other opportunities to develop a new Metroid, I would really like it But in the end, it depends on how many people want to buy a 2D Metroid. ”
“Metroid: Samus Returns” is released on September 15 for the Nintendo 3DS family.
