The Gamescom 2017 will offer more exhibition space than in previous years. This is primarily the case for the exhibitors in the trade visitors’ area. The exhibition will be held from 22 to 26 August in Cologne.
After the organizers of the Gamescom already in the past years strive to break records, this year is held to this strategy. For this purpose, the exhibition area is once again to grow. For the first time, hall 1 of the exhibition grounds in Cologne will be occupied.
The Gamescom 2017 is therefore on a gross floor space of 201,000 square meters, which corresponds to the previous year a plus of at least four percent. Hall 1 is used as part of the business area and is exclusively used by Electronic Arts.
“The additional occupancy of Hall 1, and thus the expansion of the Business Area, underlines the importance of Gamescom as the leading European business platform for the gaming industry,” said Tim Endres, Director of Gamescom. “For us, the demand for larger and additional exhibition space in the business area is a clear signal that Gamescom is the European deadline for the industry.”
With the withdrawal of Electronic Arts from Hall 4.1, exhibition space will be free in this area. This means that the Koelnmesse is in a position to meet both the demand for booth enlargements of existing business area exhibitors and new exhibitors. The group of Asociación Peruana de Desarrollador (Peru), the Brazilian Game Developers (Brazil), and the RGDA Romanian Game (Romania) group are the first to take part.
The specialist visitor area will be in 2017 in Halls 1, 2, 3.2. And 4. The entertainment area extends over halls 5 to 10.
