The soccer simulation “FIFA 18” will bring the 3rd League into play for the first time. However, fans of FC Carl Zeiss Jena will have to accept a censorship of their own jerseys.
Electronic Arts and EA Vancouver will be launching the soccer simulation “FIFA 18” in just a few weeks and will send the players to the virtual lawn for the first time with the German 3rd league. However, the jersey of a third league is censored. The speech is in this case from the FC Carl Zeiss Jena.
The editors of Bild.de report that fans of the club have to do without a certain patch on the sleeve. This is the patch with a skull and two crossed drumsticks, which ultimately represents the logo of the metal band Heaven Shall Burn, which appears as sponsor of the club. Electronic Arts has not officially justified why you removed the logo from the game.
“We are really looking forward to playing FIFA in the tour bus and finally shooting down Europe’s elite with Jena – with or without skulls,” said Maik Weichert, guitarist of Heaven Shall Burn. “The fact that our jersey is too blatant for the censors makes the whole thing especially cool. We were already at that time in the school with our shirts negatively noticed.”
The FC Carl Zeiss Jena club’s spokesman said today that it is rumored that “playing FIFA 18 in a real jersey with a skull on the sleeve is almost unbeatable.”
“FIFA 18” will be released on 29 September 2017 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch and the PC. In addition to the 3rd league, the DFB Cup will also be fully licensed in the game.
