The players should be in the upcoming football simulation “FIFA 18” the opportunity to achieve real dream goals in the right situations. For this, the players should place emphasis on timing and free space.
With the soccer simulation “FIFA 18” Electronic Arts and EA Vancouver want to take another step towards realism. In a recent interview with Gamereactor, EA Sports’ Samuel Rivera has spoken out on some adjustments.
“The dream goals are very important in FIFA 18,” said Rivera. “What we are doing is that we are taking the next step to understanding these concepts from real football that create these moments … they then put them in the game, adjust them to make them more realistic and get those results.”
According to Rivera, these dream goals are not artificially introduced, so that some volleys or the like lead to the desired success according to a formula. Instead, the success depends on the user, who is in the right situation at the right moment and decides for the shot. “I will not have the perfect shot when someone presses me when another opponent is there and the ball turns to that side, it will not work, it must be the good moment with free space, then you will be the dream goal see.”
“FIFA 18” will be released on 29 September 2017 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch and the PC.
