Hideo Kojima, head behind “Death Stranding”, used the stage of the Tribeca Games Festival to discuss the current state of the game, why Norman Reedus was naked in the first trailer and the benefits of real actors.
From the beginning, Hideo Kojima, the mastermind behind the PlayStation 4 exclusive title “Death Stranding,” had Norman Reedus (“The Walking Dead”) in mind when he designed the character. He gave this during a keynote at the Tribeca Games Festival.
In the first trailer, Reedus was shown in Adams costume. This was the reason for the character in the game independently in different costumes and with different hairstyles and equipment to be able to examine. In addition, Kojima, also known as “Metal Gear”, would rather work with flesh and blood actors. These would be unpredictable, reflecting the possibilities of the project to a different level. Although it would be possible to make precise specifications for classical CG and animations, this is, however, too predictable.
Furthermore, “Death Stranding”, to which even an approximate dating is still pending, would develop well and progress. Overall, it would run “really good”. Both the action itself and the general plans were ready. Now the studio is currently working on the Decima Engine. In addition, some tests on the game system, the characters and environments would take place.
