If the Activision team is in charge, 2017 is exactly the right year to return to the roots of the long-lasting shooter series with a shooter like “Call of Duty WWII”.
As Activision confirmed a few days ago, the developers of Sledgehammer Games are currently working on the shooter “Call of DutyWWII”.
This will be released in early November for the Xbox One, the PC and the PlayStation 4 and return to the roots of the “Call of Duty” series: the Second World War. In a recent interview, Eric Hirshberg, the publishing author of Activision, went back to the “Call of Duty” setting.
Even if “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” according to Hirshberg is a fantastic game, the setting was simply not the nerve of the time. This is one of the biggest problems of the new three-year rhythm, in which the “Call of Duty” games are now being developed. Although the developers here have more time for the final fine, but it is hardly possible to react to new trends.
When Activision decided in 2014 to give “Callof Duty WWII” a green light, one could not know that the issue of the Second World War will come back in 2017. “Three years ago, when we decided to return to our roots, we could not guess that 2017 would bring several films to the cinema, which are based on the Second World War,” says Hirshberg.
2017 is thus exactly the right year for a return to the roots, concluded Hirshberg.
