Activision has confirmed in the latest annual report, which was clear anyway: The new “Call of Duty” is being developed by Treyarch and should reach the trade in the autumn of this year. On the other hand, the publisher did not want to give away what the shooter expects.
Activision Blizzard released the latest annual report last night confirming a game that should not come as a big surprise: there will be a new “Call of Duty” this year. Also, the indication of the responsible developer is likely to surprise the fewest players: It is Treyarch – the studio, from which, among other things, the successful “Black Ops” sub-series comes. The company shares with the other two “Call of Duty” developers Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games.
The publication of the new “Call of Duty” is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2018. This is also the usual release period for parts of the shooter series. More interesting should be information on Seetting. However, Activision renounced this in the latest annual report. One could hardly wait to say more about the new game. In the past there was already a rumor that Treyarch is working on “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4”, which takes place in the modern world and will be a bit down-to-earth than the sci-fi games of the past.
Last year saw the release of “Call of duty WW2”, a shooter with a setting during the Second World War. Maybe Treyarch’s new “Call of Duty” will take us back in time. For example, a setting in the Vietnam War would still be open.
