Randy Pitchford, Gearbox’s CEO, understands that the “Borderlands” fans have high expectations of the new part. For this reason, the company wants to take a little more time and publish something that can be used to drive the franchise further.
Gearbox has so far not been able to penetrate the new “Borderlands”, so that it is not clear whether the new part is really “Borderlands 3”. Recent statements from Gearbox chief Randy Pitchford, who already pointed out in the framework of the PAX West that about 90 percent of the employees work on the new game, however, point out.
According to his statement, it would not have been a difficult thing to publish more “Borderlands” games “The Pre-Sequel”. This could earn a lot of money. Although Pitchford likes such offshoots very much, Gearbox would like to make a “big, worthy step forward” with the new game.
Pitchford compared the situation with the “GTA” series. While “GTA: Vice City” and “GTA: San Andreas” were great games. However, they are based on the same engine and were located in the same generation. With “Borderlands 3” Gearbox wants to achieve a real evolution. With this statement, he referred to Rockstar’s leap in the direction of “GTA 4”, for which the company also left a lot of time.
It is not to be expected that the new “Borderlands” will soon be presented. “I think we have to go through everything and then work it out, so we’ll work on it, and as soon as we think we’ve got it, we will not announce anything until we have something that is worth it “said Pitchford. Maybe next year we’ll hear something from the sequel.
