Owners of the upcoming Xbox One X will be able to transfer their settings and games from the old Xbox One to the new model. In addition, a light-mode for the user interface was presented as part of the live-show by Microsoft.
Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra has announced at the Gamescom Presence of the Redmonder that future buyers of the Xbox One X will get a fairly simple way to transfer their settings from the Xbox One to the Xbox One X. This requires an external memory, where you can save your data and then re-import it into the new console from Microsoft. On the Xbox One X you can continue with the same settings and you do not have to navigate through the setup effort.
You should also be able to download the 4K updates for your existing games at an early stage. These can then be transferred to the Xbox One X via an external memory or via the home network. After the launch of the Xbox One X, it is also possible to transfer the existing games from the old console to the new console via the home network. Of course this is also possible via an external memory.
And there is another announcement: Mike Ybarra confirmed in the Gamescom live stream also that the Xbox consoles are equipped with a Light mode. It joins the Dark Mode, which is activated by default. In the following gallery you will see a comparison to a picture to transfer your data.
