The men of Wargaming have used their game “World of Tanks” and Microsoft’s HoloLens to inspire visitors in a tank museum with a detailed version of the Sturmtiger.
The World of Tanks developers from Wargaming have released a new video showing a mixed reality experience of visiting the TankFest 2017 at the Bovington Tank Museum.
In cooperation with the museum, the developers have brought to life an ultra-rare tank of the second world war. This is the Sturmmörswagen 606/4 with 38 cm RW 61, known as “Sturmtiger”. With the help of the Microsoft HoloLens, assets from “World of Tanks” were used to show how it looked when the tank was driving into the hangar. Furthermore you can experience the inner life as well as the mechanical functions of the tank in detail.
The new video shows what the museum visitors were able to examine. This type of education could be an interesting alternative in the future.
