As Sega announced a few months ago, behind the scenes is feverishly working on the retro platformer “Sonic Mania”, which emerges from a collaboration between the publisher Christian Whitehead, Headcannon and PagodaWest Games.
In Sonic Mania, we are dealing with a classic retro platformer in the 2D style with which Sega returns to the roots of the cult series and wants to revive the nineties. In addition, the classic elements of the series are to be provided with new stages and various twists. Playable characters are waiting for Sonic, Knuckles and Tails.
So far, we have been thinking that “SonicMania” will find the way to the Xbox One, the PC, the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo switch in the course of the spring. However, according to a recent announcement by the publisher, nothing is said.
Therefore, the responsible developers need a little more time to reach the targeted quality standard. As a new release-time window of “SonicMania” the summer of the year is called out. A fresh trailer for “SonicMania” was released as a small consoling tape, with the new stage “Flying Battery Zone” from Sonic & Knuckles being presented.
