After “Silent Hill” is out, it is unclear how it will go on with the once so successful series. As the longtime composer Akira Yamaoka confirmed in an interview, he would like to work on a new “Silent Hill”. Whether it will ever come so far, however, is dependent on several factors.
In 2015, the leaders of Konami decided to stop working on “Silent Hills”.
Since then it is unfortunately unclear whether and in what form it will continue with the once so popular horror series. In an interview conducted by PC Gamer, Akira Yamaoka, who worked for several years as a composer on the “Silent Hill” series, lost a few words on this topic. As he says, he would like to work on a new “Silent Hill”. However, it is unclear whether it will ever come so far.
Silent Hill: Composer Yamaoka would like to work on a new title
“I really can not tell if there will be another Silent Hill or not. On the one hand, of course, I am delighted that we are regularly asked by fans of the series worldwide. I would be happy about a new Silent Hill. But what will happen, I can not say with certainty, “says Yamaoka.
But even if Konami would agree with the whole, the developers would first face various challenges. So it would not just be a question of bringing together as large a part as possible of the team at that time, but also the way the developers had changed their minds.
And the way in which games are developed and the industry as such have changed according to Yamaoki. So he does not know if it will ever be possible to create a hit like the then “Silent Hill” adventure.
