Since the end of April “Scanner Sombre” is available for the PC. With some delay, friends of virtual reality and their spectacles can soon enter the game.
Already since last April 26, all non-VR owners have access to the “Scanner Sombre” via Steam. For the game in which you have to explore a cave system, there is no VR support available – until now.
Now, introversion software, the heads behind the claustrophobic exploration game, announced that you would like to integrate in the near future support for the VR glasses HTC Vive and Oculus Rift into the software. In just six weeks it will be time. That betrayed introversion co-founder Mark Morris on the PDXCon against PCGamer.com (see source).
You have to be crazy if you only concentrate on VR games. Introversion “Defcon VR” was downloaded by “about seven people” according to Morris. Instead, “Scanner Sombre” would have been published as a non-VR title to make it VR-compatible only if a firm player base has established itself. One did not consciously want people to think that “scanner Sombre” is a VR title, so as not to deter those who do not have VR glasses.
