This week, the first-person shooter “Prey”, developed by the Arkane Studios in Texas, was released for the Xbox One, the PC and the PlayStation 4.
A few days before the official release of “Prey“, a playable demo was made available on the two home consoles, which gave the players the opportunity to take a first detailed look at the shooter. Only the PC community went empty.
Prey: Why was not a demo released for the PC?
An event on which co-creative director Raphael Colantonio once again received on demand. As it does, the developers at Arkane Studios have had to decide to buy a consoles or a PC demo because of limited resources.
According to Colantonio, the fact is that on the digital sales and gaming platform Steam in principle the possibility exists to play the shooter for two hours long and to return this at not fallen. This is an approach that does not work with the retail version.
It is also pointed out once again that the PC version is by no means a simple porting of the console sockets. Instead, the PC version was designed from the ground up to ensure a smooth launch.
