Could Netherrealm Studios still be a successor to the crossover beat’em up “Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe”? The game designer and Creative Director Ed Boon does not want to exclude this at least.
In the past week, Warner Bros. Interactive and the responsible developers of NetherRealm Studios had brought the Beat’em Up “Injustice 2” into the worldwide trade for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, some fans wonder whether the developers around the legendary game designer Ed Boon will bring a successor to the 2008 “Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe”.
In a recent interview with Gamereactor, Ed Boon said, “I guess I never want to say, but I guess we will not see it again in the near future.” Thus, a successor is at least never excluded. He was also asked about other potential crossover titles.
“You know, we always had discussions about other things to do with other combat games,” Boon explained. “You know, we’re all wondering if we’d ever make a Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat or a Marvel vs. DC or something like that and it would be a lot of fun, but right now we’re pretty close to Injustice and Mortal Kombat do.”
So we will have to be satisfied with “Injustice 2” and “Mortal Kombat X”. But would you like to get another crossover? Tell us in the comments.
