Polyphony Digital is developing “Gran Turismo Sport” with the future console hardware in the back end. Even with an 8K resolution, the title could be sent to the TV when using a more powerful console.
“Gran Turismo Sport” will be released this year for the two consoles PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro on the market. But apparently, the creator Kazunori Yamauchi already thinks one step further. According to his statement, the game is designed to run on a future 8K console. “I think it would not be a problem to run it with 8K,” said his words.
Already in the past, the designer pointed out that the assets of “Gran Turismo Sport” could also be used in upcoming console generations. Four weeks ago, the man emphasized in a conversation with IGN: “The vehicle models we are now using in Gran Turismo Sport are expected to be used in the console generations, which appear after PS4 and PS4 Pro.”
Yamauchi is even starting from a ten-year use of vehicle data: “The precision models of these vehicle models are unrivaled all over the world. The only models that have a higher quality than ours are the original CAD models of vehicle manufacturers, which of course are not in real-time Can be rendered. ”
According to the developer, it takes six months to create a single vehicle. However, these are over-speculated for the PS4 Pro. “That’s why we are building the models for future versions of the console instead of just the ones that are available today,” Yamauchi said.
What Yamuchi means with future models is not quite clear. Maybe Sony is preparing for another revision of the PS4 with even more power. However, the man could also refer to the PlayStation 5 or even PS6.
