The MMORPG “Final Fantasy XIV” will be equipped with PS4 Pro support in just a few weeks. It includes two modes, which optionally offer a higher framerate and a higher resolution. In addition, a new trailer for the “Stormblood” expansion was released.
The PlayStation 4 Pro was released last year, but not all games were adapted to the new hardware. This applies, for example, to the online “Final Fantasy XIV” roll-up game, which is to be equipped with such an update in the near future. The responsible director and producer Naoki Yoshida has now revealed some details about the update and the included PS4 Pro mode. According to his statement, the players of “Final Fantasy XIV”, if they run the title on the PlayStation 4 Pro, can adjust to two modes.
Final Fantasy XIV on the PS4 Pro with two modes
In the first mode, the online scrolling continues with a resolution of 1080p. However, the Framerate is increased, which it should bring on the PS4 Pro after the update of “Final Fantasy XIV” to 60 FPS. The second mode is for owners of a 4K TV. The previous Framerate remains unchanged in this case, but the resolution is increased. It is not yet known which value is reached.
The PS4 support of “Final Fantasy XIV” will be launched together with the “Stormblood” expansion and the update 4.0. There is already an appointment for this: The launch will take place on 20 June 2017. Early access will be released on 16 June 2017. A little hint for PS3 players: The support of “Final Fantasy XIV” ends on this platform shortly.
