Atari is back in console business! The company has now announced this by announcing the so-called Ataribox. Too many details about the new console are not yet known.
In the seventies and eighties Atari was one of the big companies of the video game industry. At that time one could inspire the people with the in-house consoles like the Atari 2600. However, after the 1993 released Atari Jaguar had been withdrawn from the console development.
But in a recent interview with Gamesbeat, Fred Chesnais, CEO of Atari, has confirmed that a completely new video game console is being developed. “We are back in the hardware business,” it says. However, Chesnais has barely revealed any details about the new system.
The new console is said to carry the name “Ataribox” and use technology that is based on the PC. Currently, the company is working on the design of the new console. In a first teaser video one can already get an impression.
